Puhoi is around half an hour's drive north of Auckland city yet has all the charm of a unique country village, originally founded by Bohemians in the 1860s.Our cottage is a short walk to the village center down a quiet, leafy country lane. Your own transport is essential as there is no public transport in Puhoi.Local activities and attractions:There are walks in the area and Puhoi is on the Te Araroa trail that runs the length of New Zealand. Recommended is the loop track, from the Domains carpark, a 40-minute walk, giving you views of the historic village. The river walk from the Domain is an easy stroll, past the community orchard.  Or for more of a hike from the loop track, extend into a portion of the Te Araroa trail. At the Domain theres a sports field and tennis courts,  byo sports gear.Regional Parks nearby, Wenderholm, 10 minutes drive, or Mahurangi west, approx 20 minutes' drive, with more walks and beaches to enjoy.Puhoi library, run by local volunteers, is open at various times, a historic building and also serves as an info center.Puhoi museum, located near the historic church and hall,  all built by the early bohemian settlers.Puhoi pub and stables, spend some time perusing, stop in for a drink or meal, again historic and on weekends there's often live music.Puhoi General store for cafe food, groceries, great takeaways, the fish n chips are recommended.Puhoi Farmhouse Gallery on Saleyards rd is open seasonally and just next door!Puhoi River canoe hire, operating seasonally for kayaking the Puhoi river.

Generally, no we do not provide a meal. Self-catering or the General Store features a cafe offering light meals and takeaway options. The nearby Puhoi pub also serves a variety of meals and snacks.

YES there is some wifi which can be arranged if you need it.

We do not provide laundry for short term stays, but if your stay is more than one week, then yes that can be arranged.
